About Ayako

Ayako grew up in Osaka and lived there until she ventured out to Canada to learn English. Since then Ayako has continued to travel around the world and lived for three years in Seattle where she attended an American college.

Since returning to Japan, she has focussed on her two main passions: Farming and Languages.

In the past ten years Ayako has done proofreading and translation work for Matsumoto city parks' signage, document translation for local rice farmers, bilingual communication support at public offices, in addition to teaching English and programming at Hello Rocket.

Ayako's previous work experience includes:
  • Completing syllabus translation for the News English Course, the Business English Course and the Travel English Course at Matsusho Junior College in Matsumoto
  • Interpreting for Matsumoto Police in the case of a detained foreign national
  • Interpreting between English speaking client and Japanese supplier of maritime commodities

  • Contributor and moderator for the Japanese for English speakers course on Duolingo
  • Providing direct interpreting for SMITHS MANUFACTURING LTD, as well as technical document and instruction manual translations for DENSO Air Systems
  • Completing translation of the course textbook for the Interactive English Course at Matsusho Junior College in Matsumoto
  • Translating communication material for fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto
